Munira Aminu Bello is a public health professional dedicated to global development. Her public health journey began as a volunteer student medical officer, providing medical support to her community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Munira volunteered with the Nigerian Red Cross Society, leading health literacy campaigns and conducting COVID-19 tests. She also contributed to OxCRT, researching government policy responses to the pandemic. At the West African Institute of Public Health, Munira spearheaded a virtual learning program that trained 150 early-career public health professionals from 28 countries, supported by 30 expert mentors. This initiative deepened participants’ understanding of public health challenges across nations. She further honed her skills in development and fundraising, supporting health workforce development initiatives at Seed Global Health. Recognized as one of 100 global emerging leaders by the Oxford Character Project, Munira has also been active in international discussions on development through Chatham House. She is now focused on building a career in venture philanthropy and impact investing.
